Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
This showdown early on in the film really sets the tone of what you’re about to sit through. After the hints and reveals at the post-apocalyptic world and Mega City One, the film’s small budget forces a very narrow focus for the rest of the feature. Which is no bad thing and you get a lean, fast narrative with an unflinching Karl Urban as Judge Dredd.
It is such a shame Dredd didn’t find its audience in the US, with reviewers seeing it as just a remake of the 1995 Stallone-carried monstrosity. Here in the UK, although I don’t read it myself, 2000AD is a comic institution and we knew it had nothing to do with the other film. Sadly we may never see more of the harsh world they created.
I love this movie
